Back in 2006, we started the International Day of Slayer as a satire of the National Day of Prayer, following the success of the Hessian Studies Center making sardonic fun of academia. Our goal was to promote metal through its perennially-popular fan-designated vanguard, Slayer!
This year we hope you celebrate with some live (undead) Slayer, specifically our new addition for this year, a soul-devouring show from the heyday of Slayer as the Satanic Panic raged outside, Slayer - Groningen 1985. Blast this at your neighbors and remind them that our Hessian holiday is as important as their flags, footballs, and religious festivities.
